Universal preps new Scarface movie

To paraphrase Homer Simpson, “First you get the money, then you get the power, the you get the women, then you get the second remake.”
 
Yes, Universal is prepping a third Scarface movie, which will apparently reimagine the crime drama for modern times in the same way Brian De Palma’s film reflected its ’80s era.

Ridley Scott to direct new Blade Runner film

Ridley Scott is set to direct a new version of sci-fi classic Blade Runner.
 
“It would be a gross understatement to say that we are elated Ridley Scott will shepherd this iconic story into a new, exciting direction. We are huge fans of Ridley’s and of the original Blade Runner. This is once in a lifetime project for us,” said Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, co-founders of Alcon Entertainment.

Scott is currently working on Alien sorta-prequel Prometheus, but this latest development has come out of the blue…
